An Easter of Flowers in Zagreb
May 10, 2009 | Francis Nicholls-WunderZagreb is a vibrant city with some great weather approaching summer. The hostels and hotels were full of tourists on long trips or short Easter and Spring breaks when I was there. The markets open every day and were busier than ever over the Easter period. Your usual fruit and vegetable market was bustling atop the indoor butcher and deli section.
One of the more interesting sights was rows and rows of busy stalls selling nothing but flowers. Apparently there is quite a market for flowers over the Spring holidays! The colours and the smells of these markets were beautiful in the Croatian sun, a wonderful last stop on my lazy and relaxing journey through the country.
