Pub Crawl in Rome…after just 20 minutes in the city!

Despite being one of Europe’s main tourist hubs for sightseeing during the day, the city of Rome is lacking something when it comes to nightlife. However, thanks to the large tourist population nightlife in Rome comes about in the form of gigantic pub-crawls and organized bar hops that draw out the young party people from every hostel in the area.

My personal initial experience of the Roman pub-crawl occurred literally within the first half of hour of arriving in the city of Rome, after a 20-hour journey via boat and train from Barcelona. While trying to get my faulty key to work in order to get into my hostel room, and sleep, an Australian guy came to try and help me out. We got to talking and he talked me into throwing a shirt on and rushing down to the pub-crawl that was starting in just 20 minutes.

The pub crawl was huge! Sometimes hundreds of people turn up to wander through the streets and explore the bars that Rome has to offer…believe me some of them are very hard to find on your own. Thanks to the huge numbers it is never a big deal if the venues aren’t too busy before the pub-crawl gets there as the huge party that is being transported around the streets always makes for a great atmosphere.

There are a few different options for pub-crawls in Rome but don’t worry, you won’t have to go and search one out. All major hostels will have plenty of fliers, information and advertisements for all the various pub-crawls. Most cost you about 20 Euros but come with a bunch of free drinks, free club entries and go on early into the morning.
