Travel Writing: HelloTraveler.com

PPOldMapJrnlLGFor a person like me – writer meets travel fiend meets shopaholic – Hello Traveler just might be a new travel-gear resource (and another budget-blowing guilty pleasure).

I love keeping journals, particularly when traveling because, while the routine of domestic life may not always evoke self-discovering thoughts and revelations, the constant excitement of travel usually does. And so, after reading about the red and relevant Destinations journal, I searched for my own copy. What better way to record your destinations than in a classy leather-bound titled so appropriately?

The search led me not to Anthropologie – where our Lizelle found hers – but to Hello Traveler, a veritable resource for the avid scripter and one providing not only pages for your destinations but even for your ski trips, time lines and restaurant reviews, among other things. Though perhaps it’s not necessary to be so specific in your recordings, these items are great novelties for anyone who travels with a focus (like me with my art, or my boyfriend – a potential recipient of the restaurant recorder).

Not all of the items on Happy Traveler are for me (have to pass on the too obvious, city-themed notebooks) but the site is likely to have something for most jotters or album-keepers (the new cardstock flag photo journals are clever, with a vintage feel that retains their tact). Exursion expression is nothing to be taken lightly, so check out Hello Traveler for some pages to begin your hopefully endless travel journaling.

Thanks for the recommendation, Laura! There is some nifty stuff on there. I especially like the cool retro luggage tags. Luggage tags are usually so ugly – these are really cool!
